Self London is currently the only UK Consultant Dermatologist owned and led service offering end-to-end acne management, from treatment of active disease, to closing the loop with scar management and long-term maintenance. We provide a comprehensive range of options to our patients, backed by vast amounts of experience, to deliver results. This includes brand-agnostic skincare advice, chemical peels and a variety of lasers to treat active acne (AviClear, BBL, 1064 Nd:YAG), together with prescription topical agents, “specials” which we can formulate, and oral prescription medications which only a Consultant Dermatologist is able to prescribe.

We are proud to be the first Consultant Dermatologist-led clinic in Europe to have the AviClear laser. The AviClear’s innovative 1726nm wavelength laser specifically targets the sebaceous (oil-producing) glands in the skin, treating acne at its source. It is safe, effective and drug-free, giving our patients more choice in how they wish to manage their acne. It is suitable for all skin types, produces lasting results, and can be carried out at any time of year. There is no downtime, and side-effects are mild and transient (redness and swelling), lasting only a few hours for most people. It is a game-changing piece of technology and redefines what is possible without a prescription. It can effectively be combined by a Consultant Dermatologist with other methods to bring acne under control across multiple body sites if necessary.

The Self London team also has in-house expertise to manage pigmentation, redness or scarring left behind once we have your acne under control. We have a comprehensive suite of light- and laser-based devices, including BBL/IPL, Nd:YAG, HALO, and fractional and fully ablative lasers, which work alongside other methods such as filler, subcision, surgery, TCA CROSS, microneedling, and medium-depth peels. We believe in fostering long-term relationships with our patients and all our care is Consultant-led throughout the entire patient journey.
